The Transition Chairman of Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Fola Salami, has suspended officials of the local government, for allegedly assaulting a lady, on Saturday, at Ojodu Abiodun area of the local government.
Salami in a statement obtained by the Tribune Online, described the action of the officials as “gross inhumane attitude.”
Tribune Online reports that there was a viral video on some social media platforms, that indicated that the LG officials actually harassed the lady, while enforcing the lockdown order of the state government.
The LG boss said the attitude of the officials did not in any way portray the humane nature, as preached by the council area.
The suspended officials would not receive monthly payments until further notice, according to Salami.
The chairman equally promised that investigation was on on the matter, and that anyone found culpable would be decisively dealt with.
The statement said, “It came as a rude shock to me when I saw the video of one of our officials enforcing the lockdown order with gross inhumane attitude.
“On this note, I am suspending all officials involved without pay, until further notice.
“Rest assured, the public should be aware that all hands are on deck on this issue and whoever is found guilty will be dealt with decisively.
“Meanwhile, as at the time of this release, the primary official involved has been arrested.”
