OFFCUT: Netizens cite ‘irreconcilable differences,’ as reasons couples separate after many years

Nigerians have given reasons for marital separation after spending many years together.

Reacting to a poser made by Tribune Online, Nigerians were asked to mention possible reasons couples part ways after spending long marital years together.

However, netizens gave various reasons ranging from irreconcilable differences to lack of communication and lots more.

A Facebook user, @Perebode Clement reacted that couples part ways after a long marital journey due to Irreconcilable differences.

Another user, @Marvelous Shindak commented, “Lack of being contented, Intolerance, Pride, Disobedience and Impatience.”

“You can’t understand the real depth of the responsibility involved before we jump into it. It takes a lot of sacrifices that sometimes include self depreciation that some really find difficult in the long run.” @Adeyemo Adeniyi shared

@Ujah Unique Moses said, “The absence of listening without making an oversight meaning when the other speaks from within. Trust me;IT IS DEEPER THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE!#iamMO’~the realist🧐”

@Olusanjo Ojekanmi also shared that “impatience,undue interference from prophets,friends and families are reasons for separation in marriage.”

An X user, @abdulma54515311 commented, There are several reasons why couples part away after marriage. some of them are: (i) Misunderstanding (ii) Lack of patients (iii) Not knowing each other well, maybe their behaviours, etc. but mostly the best thing that can last marriage is patient.
