The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu, has condemned the killing of twenty three military men ambushed on a military convoy by gunmen suspected to be terrorists in Niger State.
The traditional ruler gave this remark while receiving the personnel of the Nigeria Airforce at his palace at Iga lduganran Lagos island.
Oba Akiolu urged President Bola Tinubu-led administration to ensure provision of adequate logistics support to the men of the Armed Forces to avert a recurrence of such unfortunate incidents.
In his remark, The Airforce Vice Marshal Logistic, Abukaker Yaro Abdulahi, commended the traditional ruler for his support.
He noted that the courtesy visit was to strengthen the mutual relationship between his personnel and the indigenous people.
The event had in attendance white cap chiefs and top Air Force Officers.
While receiving the new executives of the Isale Eko Descendant Union at his palace in Idumota, Oba Akiolu appealed to people on the Island to embrace the culture of bagging their waste and dumping them in designated places where LAWMA would cart them away.
The monarch urged the new executives led by former commissioner for justice, Kazeem Adeniji as the new chairman to support government effort in sensitizing the indigene the need to ensure a cleaner environment.
Oba Rilwan Akiolu warned residents of the state against dumping refuse in public places to avert epidemics.
The monarch advised the government to ensure that the state was not littered with refuse, urging Governor Sanwo-olu-led administration to put in place a mechanism to deal with waste in the state.
