KANO State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has said that there is no fund to complete the five kilometres road projects across the 44 local government areas of the state embarked on by his predecessor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Ganduje added that the liabilities of the said roads amount to N6billion.
It will be recalled that former Governor Kwankwaso started the construction of 5 kilometres of roads in each of the 44 local government areas before he left the office and these projects had remained abandoned.
Ganduje, however, expressed his determination to complete all developmental projects initiated by his administration before the end of his tenure come 2023.
Governor Ganduje who disclosed this during an interactive session with journalists at the Government House Kano said the state does not “have N6 billion to complete that projects.”
According to him, the plan and projections of the administration are that all projects started will be completed, noting that “by the estimate and plan that we have, all projects initiated by our government will be completed.”
“We don’t intend to leave behind any project embarked upon by my administration, things are going on as planned, and there are hopes that the contractors will deliver as scheduled,” he emphasised.
He further disclosed that the administration has also completed a lot of projects inherited from the previous regimes including that of his predecessor Senator Kwankwaso and Senator Ibrahim Shekarau.
He promised to keep attracting good projects to the state to improve the well-being of the populace.
