Nnaji seeks agencies’ collaborations to achieve science, technology, innovation goals

The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Uche Nnaji, has said strong collaboration between the Ministry and Agencies is vital to achieving the successful implementation of Science, Technology and Innovation goals

Nnaji, on his assumption of office in Abuja on Tuesday, urged the ministry staff and heads of the agencies to collaborate for the ministry’s greater height.

“Let’s unite and work together for shared objectives through effective communication.

“History has shown that no nation can progress without a foundation rooted in knowledge, science, and innovation.

“I am therefore happy to be here with you to achieve these noble goals and objectives of transforming the fortunes of this great Country through the critical activities of the Ministry and its affiliated agencies.”

“As the new Minister, I am aware of a few existing policies and strategic documents of the Ministry, in particular the National Science, Technology, and Innovation Policy.”

“Therefore, I expect briefings from the Directors and DGs on the implementation of this policy in their respective departments and agencies.”

“However, these briefings should provide brief, high-level summaries, while the comprehensive documents will be submitted for in-depth analysis.”

“Furthermore, I will offer strong guidance on the key principles of strong collaboration between the Ministry and agencies, which is vital.

“We are here to innovate, not to merely follow routines. Our swift and inventive actions will define us as a ministry driven by innovation.”

“Meetings with Directors and heads of agencies will swiftly clarify our shared objectives, thereby guiding our strategic action plans.”

“Let us be result-oriented, proactive, and enthusiastic. Our leadership in innovation will contribute to the prosperity of our great nation.”

“Immediate approval of funds will require clearance from the Minister’s Office.

Decisions must align with our goals, optimising resources for projects that deliver tangible outcomes. Your unwavering commitment is valued as we progress together on this journey.”
