NIPR governing council: Unilorin Mass Comm Alumni body congratulates don

Mass Communication Alumni Association, University of Ilorin (MCAAUI), has congratulated an Associate Professor of Mass Communication at the institution, Dr. Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi, on her election into the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) governing council.

Tribune Online reports that Dr. Abdulbaqi emerged as a member of the NIPR governing council during the regulatory body’s 2023 council election in Abuja. 

In a congratulatory letter jointly signed by the MCAAUI President, AbdulGafar Arikewuyo, Ph.D., General Secretary, Aderemi Adeagbo, and Assistant General Secretary, Jolayemi Farouq, the Alumni body describes her election to the council as a testament to her resilience, hard work, and dedication. 

While stating that the achievement is a reflection of the astute PR lecturer’s contribution to the field of Public Relations and Mass Communication, the body added that they are proud to associate with her.

The letter reads partly, “We write to extend our heartfelt congratulations on your recent election to the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). Your achievement is a testament to your dedication and hard work and a reflection of the respect and admiration you have earned within your professional community.

“Your election to the prestigious governing council of the NIPR is truly a momentous accomplishment and a well-deserved recognition of your exceptional contributions to the field of Public Relations and Mass Communication scholarship in Nigeria. 

Your commitment to excellence and your unwavering pursuit of knowledge have undoubtedly played a significant role in this achievement. As alumni of the Department of Mass Communication at the University of Ilorin, we are particularly proud to see your continued success and impact in the realm of Public Relations.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to commend your efforts as a lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication. Your dedication to imparting knowledge, fostering critical thinking, and nurturing the talents of countless students has not gone unnoticed. Many of us who have been your students can attest to your effectiveness as an educator and mentor. Your ability to inspire and guide us has left an indelible mark on our educational journey, and we are grateful for the knowledge and values you have instilled in us.
