NIMN to seek APCON’s collaboration on membership

The  National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN)  is to form a strategic alliance with the Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria  (APCON), as part of the institute’s efforts at enhancing its membership base.

Making this disclosure at a Townhall Meeting with select exco and members of the institute, recently, its President, Mr. Idorenyen Enang, stated that the alliance, to be concretised with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the apex regulatory body in the industry, is designed to attract APCON-certified members into the institute’s fold.

While commending the immediate past president, Mr. Tony Agenmonmen on his efforts at stabilizing the institute, Enang described the virtual Townhall Meeting as providing an opportunity for him to share the strategic outlook of the direction the council intends to steer the ship of the  institute, in the next few years.

According to him, in tune with his campaign promise of unlocking new frontiers, one of his plans is to streamline the number of chapters in the institute, and make it one chapter per state to allow for effective administration.

Another of the council’s  strategic priorities, he added, is to increase the institute’s marketability to enable it attract the much- needed attraction from the public.

While charging members on the need to be financially active, Enang also harped on the need to build stability in the institute through leadership, social and economic developments.

“What we intend to do differently is to apply the three i’s, which is to infiltrate, infuse and influence the minds of members,” he stated.
