Nigeria @61: Nigerians have a lot to celebrate amidst challenges ― Jamil Gwamna

The Sardauna of Gombe and Managing Director of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has said Nigerians have a lot to celebrate in view of the turbulent and challenging moments that the country had been through, yet survived.

According to him, the country and its people have remained united, tolerant and patient in the quest to build a greater nation that reflects the genuine wishes of its founding fathers, hence the need for Nigerians to celebrate.

In a goodwill message sent to our correspondent through his media aide, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, Dr Isyaku Gwamna, also felicitated with Nigerians as the country marks its 61st independence anniversary and Gombe State at 25.

He further stated that the independence also presented an opportunity for everyone to reflect on how to dig deep into our consciences and find collective solutions to issues that are threatening the peace of the country.

Speaking on Gombe State’s 25th anniversary, the Sardauna rejoiced with the people saying, “the peace-loving people of Gombe state have indeed shown the pathway on how Nigerians can collectively live as their brothers’ keepers.”

He also stated that “Gombe is known for celebration and their good-spirited approach to living,” hence prayed Almighty Allah to prosper the state as it goes into the second half of a golden jubilee.
