NEPZA seeks full operations of Enugu industrial park

Published by

THE Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) is seeking the commencement of full operations at the Enugu industrial park.

Speaking while facilitating with the promoters of the economic zone, the lion business, the managing director of NEPZA, Professor Adesoji Adesugba called for seamless commencement of operation in the Enugu Industrial Park Free Trade Zone without further delay.

The head, Corporate Communication, Martins Odeh, confirming the development to Nigerian Tribune in Abuja, quoted Adesugba as saying that it was about time the country created a healthy competitive environment for foreign investment.

Adesugba in a tribute to the managing director, Lion Business Park Free Zone Management Company, Dr Chris Okereke, promoter of the zone, who passed on March 2, 2021 commended the company’s role in promoting the trade zone.

He said the late Okereke was in the forefront of ensuring the establishment of the zone, adding that he (Okereke) had used the Business Park Free Zone Management Company to promote and nurture the zone vigorously.

“This is a zone that should boost the country’s power generation, energy conversion, technologies and manufacturing, among others. The authority is concerned over its present state. We must make it work.

“The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Chief Niyi Adebayo is equally concerned and would want an expeditious settlement of all the differences in order to free up the zone to begin to contribute its quota to the national gross product without further delay,”  Adesugba said.

The head, Corporate Communication, Martins Odeh, speaking on behalf of Adesugba, said it was time the country created a healthy competitive environment for foreign investment.
