NCPC boss urges pilgrims to emulate Christ’s virtues in holy land

Published by

The Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Yakubu Pam, has urged the Nigerian pilgrims to demonstrate the virtues of Jesus Christ while in the holy land.

The NCPC boss disclosed this recently in Amman, Jordan while addressing the first batch of pilgrims who arrived the Kingdom of Jordan to begin their pilgrimage exercise.

Rev Pam, who charged all and sundry, said “while we are on pilgrimage, we should show who Christ is in our conduct,” urging the pilgrims to shun any act that would embarrass the host country

He commended the Jordanian government for the presidential reception accorded the Nigerian delegation on arrival at the Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, Jordan, saying that the recently introduced pilgrimage to Jordan would help to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

He enjoined the pilgrims to see their pilgrimage to Jordan as a revival that would turn their spiritual life around and admonished them to use the platform provided by the pilgrimage to pray fervently because the purpose of the exercise here is to pray.”

He stressed that considering the importance the NCPC attaches to prayer, it had reduced the number of a daily visit to the holy sites in order to give room for the pilgrims to pray for themselves and for Nigeria, urging them to cooperate with the pilgrimage leaders to ensure a hitch-free Pilgrimage exercise.

“It is instructive to state that the first batch of Nigerian Pilgrims who arrived Jordan this fateful Sunday,25th July 2021 were led by the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, His Eminence, Samson Ayokunle, accompanied by other clerics such as His Grace, Bishop John Praise, the Chaplain of Aso Villa Chapel, Pastor Seyi Malomo, amongst others.

In another development, the Nigerian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Jordan, Ambassador Faruk Yabo has commended the proactive drive of the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Pam for his dynamism and initiative of actualising the maiden pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Jordan.

The Ambassador who was highly inspired by the visit said he was very grateful to Almighty God for allowing him and his team to witness this very milestone in the history of Nigeria and Jordan.

According to him, “it is the proactiveness of the Executive Secretary of NCPC that led to this milestone”. He explained that Jordan was deeply excited to receive the Nigerian pilgrims and as such did not take it for granted.”
