Relevant Committees in the House of Representatives are expected to commence the review of the 2022-2024 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) and Fiscal Strategy Paper (FSP) with a view to ascertain the actual fund required for the fuel subsidy.
The decision is coming barely three days after the House received President Muhammadu Buhari’s communication for the approval of N2.557 trillion for fuel subsidy with a view to reduce the impacts of the recent suspension of the Petroleum Motor Spirit (PMS) subsidy removal and the adverse implications that some changes made by the National Assembly in the 2022 Appropriation Act.
Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Hon. Benjamin Kalu disclosed this in Abuja during the post-weekly Legislative briefing.
Hon Kalu also disclosed that the report of the House of Representatives’ Special Ad-hoc Committee on Constitution Review will be laid on the floor of the House next week.
