My womb is very weak

Published by

I am a 35-year-old housewife who got married 4 years ago. During this period, I have had up to five miscarriages. These miscarriages usually occur when my pregnancy is about five months. The doctor I saw at the last episode said that the entrance to my womb is very weak and I may need a surgical operation to correct this.

Due to the weakness of the entrance to the womb (cervical Incompetence) your womb finds it difficult to hold the body once it grows up to a certain size and weight. The doctor will therefore need to admit you in the hospital and tie the entrance of the womb with a nylon suture (shirodkar) which will then be removed once it is confirmed that your baby is mature enough to be born. It is a minor operation which is routinely done in hospitals for patients with your kind of problem. It is nothing to be afraid of.
