My father’s constipation

Published by

My 65-year-old father has been complaining of constipation since he retired six months ago. We have tried all types of drugs to no avail. Kindly advise me on what else to do for him.

It is not usual for elderly people who are not very active to have incessant complaints of constipation due to the sluggish nature of their bowels. Apart from increasing the amount of your father’s intake of fluid, roughages (fruits and vegetables) you need to also encourage him to take occasional exercises such as walking and dancing.
