Most interesting part of my holiday

Ilori Temiloluwa Michelle, 4 years

I spent two weeks of my holidays at my grandparents’ house. I enjoyed all the days spent at my grandma’s house but the most interesting part of it was the football I played with my brother and grandpa.

We played football every evening and my grandpa always found time to share the moment with us. My grandparents have a big compound where we can run up and down with ball. The aspect I like most is when Grandpa throws the ball up for me to catch. The moment of playing football with him is an experience that can not be forgotten in a hurry.

I wished this could last longer than this but my parent was called to come and take us as my grandparents could no longer accommodate I my brother’s playfulness and mine. It was because they also have to prepare us for resumption of school.

Vacations are the best time to have fun. It is the best time to get myself involved in new things and develop new skills. My vacation, I joined the musical instrument class. My first day was full of fun and most interesting playing with different piano since piano is my choice instrument. However, subsequent classes were stressful and full of practice. Also I had an interesting day on my cousin’s birthday at a children’s fun fair ground where I played with so many toys. I also rode a horse, train and cars. That day was more interesting.

The most  interesting part of my holiday is that I was able to spend more time with other children from my community because we attend the same lesson which is not too far from my house.  I am able to spend more time with my mum and I spend more time watching PJ Mask on the television

One of the interesting part of my holiday was when I traveled to Awe, Oyo State for the first time.

Awe is my Mum’s home town.

We played games like snake and ladder and also ludo with my grandparents.

I saw white rabbits and fed them.

I also saw a chicken brooding over her eggs.

We also went to a lake called Sogindi Lake. We were told they don’t eat the fish inside the water.

We visited some of our extended family members.

I like Awe because it is very quiet and peaceful.

Another interesting part of my holiday was when we went for a one week music workshop at New Reservation Area Baptist Church, Iyaganku.

I learnt how to play the drumset. And I am happy I have started playing the drums in my church.

Though my holiday wouldn’t have been interesting because I attended Summer School but my school made it an interesting one. This is because Thursdays are special days meant for special programmes.

Part of the things I learnt are shoemaking and computer.

Though not a perfect cobbler, I now have an idea.

Schools vacated on 27th July, 2021. My parent was happy about my results and this made her buy me a bicycle and a new ball.

I travelled to my grandparents’ home town where I saw different animals I hadn’t seen before. I also saw hunters on their way from the bush. I really enjoyed my stay with my grandparents.
