Mohbad: Only family has right to request son’s DNA test from wife — Iyabo Ojo

Popular Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has disclosed that it is beyond the right of anyone outside late Mohbad’s family to demand that Omowunmi, the wife of the late rapper submit her son for a DNA test.

Since the death of the “peace” hitmaker was announced on September 12, Nigerians have continued to seek justice for his death and have raised millions of naira for the rapper’s 5-month-old son, Liam.

Following his sudden death, some social media users have been demanding that the late rapper’s wife submit her son for a DNA test to clear herself from those doubting her loyalty to Mohbad.

However, in reaction to the call for a DNA test, Iyabo Ojo described the demand as nothing but a distraction from the main goal of getting justice through proper investigation for the late rapper.

According to her, it is very wrong for people to doubt the paternity of the child when his father never doubted it while he was alive.

She added that if there is a need for a DNA test on the child, such a request should come from Mohbad’s parents and not the public.

She, however, appealed to Nigerians to let Mohbad’s family mourn his loss in peace

Speaking in an Instagram post recently, she said in parts, “All these distractions of ‘do a DNA test, don’t do a DNA test’, you people should please allow the family to mourn. If the father of Mohbad wants a DNA test, he can request for it. If the mother wants, she can request for it. It is a family thing. But until the final result of the autopsy comes out, there is really nothing they can do about it.

“You, nobody, and I don’t have the right to tell them to do a DNA test. Mohbad never said it to anybody that his son is not his son. So if investigation is ongoing and they feel they need to do a DNA test, they will definitely do it. We need to be very sensitive, please.”
