Social media users have continued to react differently to the judgment of the seven-member panel of the Supreme Court affirming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the February 25th presidential election.
The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the appeals by Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Mr Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) in favour of President Tinubu.
However, the judgment of the apex court has continued to generate mixed reactions from Nigerians on social media.
While some netizens hailed the verdict of the Supreme Court and congratulated Tinubu, others berated the judgment, saying that the judiciary is now compromised.
Reacting to the judgment on X, a user @akin5_Desmond tweeted, “Big congratulations to Jagaban of Nigeria, may the Lord use u to renew hope of Nigeria. Amen.”
Another user, @Yusufzone wrote, “Congratulations ASIWAJU JAGABAN BOLA AHMED TINUBU GCFR ✊️✊️✊️. Finally, democracy has spoken and we shall hence focus on the task of nation-building. Congratulations Presidoooooo.”
@Omojuwa wrote, “President Bola Tinubu spent the first five months defending his mandate in court. Today, with that mandate now effectively validated by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, he gets to focus squarely on leading Nigeria. There is no time. Nigeria needs every responsible hand on deck!”
“This is a win for democracy. May Nigeria succeed under his leadership.” @Oluwasanjoakin opined.
In a contrary opinion, @Rickyslim4 wrote, “Wasn’t expecting anything good from our corrupt judiciaries, nothing works for this country, only revolution can save the country.”
Another user, @Brightpolite tweeted, “Democracy died at the appeal court and today, buried in the Supreme Court.”
“Complete waste of time. The Nigerian judiciary system is dead and gone.” @kizzyuzoma tweeted.
