Managing depression

Depression, especially in midlife or older adulthood can occur with other serious medical illnesses such as diabetes, cancer, heart disease, and parkinson disease.

These conditions are often worsened when depression is present. Sometimes medications taken for these diseases may have side effects that contribute to depression.

A doctor who is experienced in treating complicated issues can help work out the best treatment strategy.

However, not everyone who is depressed experiences every symptom. For some people, it’s only a few symptoms while others may experience many.

The severity, frequency of symptoms and how they last will vary, depending on the individual and his or her particular illness.

In conclusion, it is advisable for people with this illness to constantly go for medical check-up in the hospital, seek counsel and open up their minds at every point in time in order to avoid crisis.
