Malicha Publishing, a Nigeria based publishing firm has relaunched her brand via an online initiative tagged via the Pen to Influence (P2I) Global Virtual Conference themed: ‘Authoring for Personal Brand Building, Thought Leadership and Profitable Impact’.
The event which was held between May 31 and June 1, 2024, attracted numerous speakers and attendees across continents. The P2I conference was value-packed with enlightening sessions, hosting industry experts, thought leaders, business executives, creative writers and coaches.
Convened by the Queen of Publishing, Lilian Akwunwa, through her premium publishing brand known as Malicha Publishing, this remarkable platform sought to establish a foundation for participants to begin their journey to influence, impact and legacy-building using writing and publishing as a tool.
Acclaimed to be timely and invaluable, the P2I Conference attracted fresh audience interests away from the literary norms, with eleven speakers scheduled, including literary remarks from the distinguished septuagenarian, Dr Ayoyinka Babatunde and a Senior Legislative Aide to the President of the Senate, Congressman Simeon Borokini and key guest speakers, Olatunji Ajani – an outstanding Project Manager and Business Consultant, Faith Akintunde – a well-established Human Resource Professional, both from the USA, as well as Abimbola Omotoso – a home-grown Tech Expert and Founder.
The event also featured exceptional panelists including Opeyemi Ogunyomi and Yetunde Adeseluka-Oladejo based in the USA and Canada, Eyitope Lala, a resourceful Brand Strategist and Consultant, with the UK-based Ife Adeagbo – a unique voice in personal branding and development who handled the Speed Talk.
The two-day P2I conference was co-hosted by the delectable Nigerian-based Perpetual Fasanmi-Peter of News Central and the UK-resident Multipod, Teinye Boyle. Via their excellent communication skills and styles, the conference delivered an engaging flow of activities with varying expertise on display.
Some of the highlights of day one featured a session introducing Malicha Publishing as an emerging publishing brand for the elites, its values, solutions, products and services with the celebration and recognition of the amazing team behind the scenes. Dr Ayoyinka Babatunde’s literary remarks focused on how modern publishers can leverage traditional methodologies and pre-existing establishments such as writers and publishers associations, book trusts, literary communities, educational bodies, and the government to achieve a more profitable impact.
As the forerunner of the speaking sessions, the host-speaker, Lilian Akwunwa, explored the authoring and publishing value chain for visibility, impact and profit, highlighting the significance of gaining better influence and visibility, while emphasizing how the value chain helps to attain profitability via the extent and intensity of a growing impact from authors.
Via this learning engagement, this amazing Malicha Publishing consultant cum director, Lilian, pre-released her new book titled “Becoming a Profitable Writer”, a book designed to help writers/authors earn millions while writing from the comfort of their homes. Being the pre-release, the participants were the beneficiaries of a 55% discount.
Also, day one witnessed another speaking session by Omotoso Abimbola who helped the attendees understand how to leverage technology and digital tools to efficiently build a personal brand and influence in their respective industries, with due consideration to the use of AI. Meanwhile, day two was fully packed with an array of activities starting with the previous day’s recap followed by a welcome speech and literary remarks by the literary guest of honour, Congressman Simeon Borokini, who spoke about the role of political leaders in authoring for national branding, thought leadership and developmental impact, highlighting the need for more inclusion of publishing and writing in the government and political landscape, referencing historical literary icons who have etched the African story in the minds of a global audience with their pens.
The speaking sessions for the second day progressed seamlessly with the renowned HR expert cum Malicha VIP Author, Faith Akintunde, speaking on the topic “Strategic and Exceptional Personal Branding via Authoring and Publishing”, followed by an expert panel discussion featuring Opeyemi Ogunyomi, Eyitope Lala and Yetunde Adeseluka-Oladejo all speaking on the topic – “Elevate You, Influence Them – How to amplify your unique voice, establish your authority, achieve excellence, gain influence and impact others”, and then capped by the speed talk from Ife Adeagbo on “Personal Branding to Public Influence, steps to take to unleash the excellence in you”.
Among many notable highlights of the P2I conference, Malicha Publishing, popularly known as ‘The Author’s Midwife’, also launched her website publishing platform solution malichapublishing.com, with specific features such as a user-friendly interface, an e-commerce integration which makes it easy for users to purchase authors’ products from the bookstore as well as functional upskill section that allows interested trainees or mentees to enroll for training, masterclasses and coaching programs offered by Malicha Publishing.
This inspiring P2I virtual Global Conference is said to be one of a kind, held on YouTube and Zoom platforms, with an average of 150 attendees over the two-day event. Participants did not just have a lot to gain, but received a free ebook gift upon registration, right before the conference, from the Malicha Team; A self-help guide to book publishing also written by the director of Malicha Publishing. The P2I conference has evolved into a distinct branded platform of its own and also includes a P2I virtual community for registered participants to network, grow and connect with like-minds.
