Malami donates food items to IDPs

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN) through his Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), the Khadimiya for Justice and Development Initiative (KJDI) last weekend donated 700 bags of assorted food items to the Internally Displaced People (IDP) in Zuru Emirate Council of Kebbi State.

The Public Secretary of the NGO, Ibrahim Abubakar Jombale, in a press statement signed and made available to the Tribune Online quoted the Minister as saying that he was concerned about the well being of Internally Displaced Persons hence his decision to make the food items available to them through the NGO at their various camps in the Zuru Emirates.

The minister according to the statement commiserated with the Emir of Zuru, Alhaji Muhammadu Sani Sami, Sami Gomo11, and the people of Zuru Emirate Council over the recent attacks on some villages by armed bandits who killed over 100 people, especially farmers.

The Emir, who could not hold back his joy and enthusiasm toward the minister gestures said it will go a long way to mitigates the hardship of the displaced persons in their various camps.

Emir Sami Gomo11 also acknowledged the humanitarian activities of the Khadimiya for Justice and Development across Kebbi State, affirming that the NGO is a blessing to the state considering its unprecedented act of philanthropy to the people at the grassroots.

He commended the minister and the management of the NGO, saying, the people of Zuru Emirate remain grateful to him for the vital role he played towards the actualisation of the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture in Zuru.

The Royal father, however, called on the minister not to relent until the Birni-Yauri- Rijau- Zuru road and Zuru- Kontagora road and the abandoned NTA Zuru become reality.
