Makinde flags-off registration of taxi, bus drivers, others in Oyo

Governor Seyi Makinde has flagged off the Oyo State Security and Planning Database (OYSAP) enumeration exercise for commercial vehicle operators.

The exercise was focused on the data capturing of commercial vehicle operators in Oyo State under the following category: taxi/Micra, buses, luxurious buses, trailers, among others.

Represented by his Deputy Chief of Staff, Honourable Abdul-Mojeed Magbonjuola, Governor Makinde at the event held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the Park Management office, New Garage, Ibadan, said: “It is mandatory for all commercial vehicle operators within the above-listed clusters, be captured into the OYSAP database as a preliminary requirement to operate in Oyo State as commercial transport operators.

“Failure to do so means one is operating illegally in the state. This is solely for the purpose of security and planning in the state.”

He flagged off the event by registering a commercial transport operator and presenting their acknowledgement slip to him.

Also present at the event were members of the governors’ cabinet, the Chairman of Oyo State Road Transport Management Agency (OYRTMA), Mogaji Akin Fagbemi; Special Adviser to the governor on Information Communication Technology (ICT), Bayo Akande and Primegauge Solutions Limited, the company carrying out the exercise.
