A lone fatal accident has claimed the life of an unidentified driver of a Toyota Carina with registration number FD310AB by Tollgate Nteje, along Enugu-Onitsha highway, on Thursday evening.
An eyewitness has it that the crash was a result of speeding which led to the loss of control.
Confirming the crash in a statement, the Sector Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command, Florence Edor, said that three persons were involved in the crash and they comprised of two male adults and one female adult.
She said one male adult and one female adult sustained varying degrees of injuries and was rushed to St Charles Borromeo hospital by the FRSC rescue team from Nteje Command.
One of the male adults was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty and his body has been deposited at Wisdom Mortuary Awkuzu. Obstruction cleared for free flow of traffic.
Meanwhile, Sector Commander, FRSC, Anambra State, Mr Andrew Kumapayi, while sending his prayers to the injured for quick recovery and also condolences to the deceased family, warned motorist to avoid speeding, saying that they should drive with care to avoid an unnecessary crash.
He went further to advise on how important it is to plan one’s journey to avoid unnecessary speed to meet up an appointment.
“Speeding is one of the major cause of fatal Crash and it can be avoided if we plan our journey. Speed thrills but kills,” he said.
