LAUTECH alumni establishes scholarship scheme, initiates N25m e-library project

THE Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, (LAUTECH) Alumni Association has established a scholarship foundation scheme for indigent students in the university.

The scholarship scheme was kick started with the 2020/2021 academic session with a sum of N4 million for the selected 40 undergraduates drawn from different faculties in the institution.

The association also succeeded  in soliciting for a 25millon e-library  building project for the university, through  Chief  (Dr) Samson  Adegoke’s  foundation,  Maigida  Charity Foundation.

At the gathering for the official inauguration of the N25million e-library donated by Chief Samson Adegoke to the university on behalf of the association  were the university management led by the chairman of the governing council, Professor Ayodeji Omole, acting vice chancellor, Professor Mojeed Liasu and members of the alumni association.

Speaking at alumni the occasion, the global president of the association, Honourable Onilede Solomon, urged the recipients of the scholarship to be focused, diligent and  determined to succeed academically.

While thanking  the selection committee and the donors for the success of the 2020/2021 edition of the scholarship scheme, he encouraged the beneficiaries not to define themselves by their challenges as everybody has a story to tell.

Onilede, while eulogising the donor, Chief Adegoke, who was represented at the event by chairman of Maigida Foundation, Chief Gbadamosi, described him as a great philanthropist, and an exemplary partner-in-progress,  whose contributions to LAUTECH’s  growth could not be overemphasised.

He also reiterated the Alumni association’s commitment to the growth and progress of the university.

The university management appreciated the alumni  president for sustaining the initiative and the efforts of the association towards bettering the lives of the upcoming generations.
