The Anglican Diocese of Lagos, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), through the Diocesan Bishop and Dean Emeritus, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Most Reverend (Dr) Ademola Ademowo, has disbursed the sum of N28,375,000 to empower 52 youths.
The information was made available in a statement to TribuneChurch by the Diocesan Communicator, Venerable ‘Seyi Pirisola, who noted that the amount was targeted at providing support for youths of the church in various entrepreneurship endeavours.
The funds were given to support such endeavours as farming, animal husbandry, trading, barbing, catering, sound equipment rentals, transportation, hair styling, equipping cybercafé, fashion designing, equipping auto mechanic workshop, among others.
Making the presentation at the second session of the thirty-third synod of the Diocese, Ademowo, who called on youths to embrace entrepreneurship skills, noted that the move was to make more youths employers of labour, and, as such, reduce unemployment in the nation.
