Lagos Assembly confirms fresh list of Sanwo-olu’s nominees

The Lagos State House of Assembly has given its confirmation to a new set of nominees presented by the State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu. These nominees encompass positions in the State Executive Council (SEC) and several agencies and parastatals.

During the Tuesday plenary session, the lawmakers approved Kemi Ogunyemi’s nomination as a executive council member.

Under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, the House also confirmed Peregrine Victoria Mopelola as the Chairman of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission. Additionally, Mrs. Ajenifuja Kafayat Adetokunbo was confirmed as a member of the commission.

The list of confirmed nominees further includes:

  • Mr. Aigoro, Musiliu Alade – Member, Lagos State Audit Service Commission
  • Mr. Sosimi Olubowale Oladimeji – Member, Lagos State Local Government Service Commission
  • Mr. Olanrewaju Mojola – Reappointment as the Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission
  • Mr. Olagunju Cole – General Manager, Lagos State Number Plate Production Authority
  • Mr. Rasheed Muri-Okunola – General Manager, Motor Vehicle Administration Agency.

The confirmation of these nominees carried out through a voice vote, followed the presentation of a report by the Chief Whip of the House, Hon. Fatai Mojeed, who chaired the ad-hoc committee responsible for screening the nominees.

Hon Mojeed affirmed that the nominees underwent thorough scrutiny and met the criteria necessary to serve the State.
