Kogi, World Bank flag off NG-CARES projects in Ogori Magongo LGA

Kogi State Social Development Agency has approved the construction of a School library/the equipping of a clinic at Ogori/Magongo Comprehensive Secondary School and Ogori community respectively.

Speaking at a ceremony held to present the approval letter and cheque for the commencement of the projects, the General Manager of Kogi State Social Development Agency, Chief Dauda Momoh expressed happiness that the Agency is making the desired impact in the local government. He assured that more intervention projects will be cited in the area.

He commended the people of Ogori/Magongo for their achievements in education and urged the people of the community to attach importance to the library project which he affirmed will be equipped with relevant books when completed.

He further disclosed that the Agency will equip the clinic with drugs, explaining that the total cost of the library and clinic projects is N13.2 million and the clinic is costing N1.8 million respectively.

The General Manager also disclosed that the community must contribute 2.5 percent of the total cost of the projects.

He then cautioned the community project management committee against the misuse of the money for the project

While receiving the approval letter and the takeoff funds, the Chairman of Ogori/Magongo community project management committee, Mr A. Alao, expressed the appreciation of the community to Kogi state government and the Agency, promised that funds provided for the projects will be used judiciously.

In his remarks on behalf of Ogori/Magongo LGA, the Secretary of the local government, Hon Obasoji Adeshina, thanked the state Government and the visiting team from the Agency for considering the local government for the projects.
