Kogi State Government has expressed dissatisfaction with the Vanguard Construction Company over the handling of the Oguma-Sheria Road and Bridge projects.

The State Commissioner for Works, Samson Bako, who expressed concerns over the pace of work at the project site, summoned the management of the company for a review of the work plan.

Bako who expressed some measure of dissatisfaction with the pace of work at the site summoned the management of the company for a review of the work plan.

The state commissioner who was on an unscheduled oversight visit to the site on Thursday stressed the need for contractors to deliver their jobs before the expiration of Governor Yahaya Bello’s tenure in office.

According to him, this would go a long way to rationalize the investment of the governor in the lives of the people of Bassa Local Government Area of the State.

In his words, “I am not happy with what is going on here. The video and photo updates were not in tandem with the reality on the ground, if I had not come here with my Team, I would have believed that the job had truly gone far. The work done has not justified the commitment of His Excellency ” he expressed.

The Commissioner therefore urged the company to expedite action as such is the only way to please the Governor.

Bako informed the contractor that he would continue to visit the site until the desired speed is exacted on the project

Responding, the project Site Superior, Engr. Emmanuel attributed the slow pace of work to the current heavy downpour in the region, assuring that the job would accelerate the weather improvement.

Among Ministry officials on the Commissioner’s train was the SSA to the Governor on Infrastructure, Tpl. Ezuh Momoh; Permanent Secretary, Engr. Audu Emmanuel; Director Civil Engineering, Engr. Akubo Abuh Hassan and others.
