Kogi gov receives APC national committee on party registration, revalidation exercise

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, has received the All Progressives Congress, National Committee for the Party’s Registration and Revalidation Exercise, led by Alhaji Lawal Samaila Yakawada, to the state.

The committee was received by Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja, on behalf of his boss, Alhaji Yahaya Bello at the state house in Lokoja.

Chief Onoja while welcoming them to the state, he assured them of maximum security being enjoyed in the state.

He also disclosed that governor Bello in his capacity as Committee Chairman of the mobilisation team for women, youths and people with disabilities had kick-started earnest consultations with relevant stakeholders to ensure the success of the exercise.

In his words, “I welcome you to Kogi State on behalf of my principal, our leader and governor. I want to assure you that once any member of this delegation crosses into Kogi, we can guarantee you of security and our maximum preparedness to update our Party’s numerical presence in the country.

“Indeed, this exercise is pivotal because years into years, registration accommodates newer members who have come of the age and also revalidates old members. I recall that in 2018, the national body of our Party also approved something of this nature for Kogi State. It helped the easy assemblage of the necessary stakeholders which you will be directing on necessary steps to take.

“Over the weekend, the President and Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari also revalidated his membership in Daura, Katsina state. That for one, marked the essence of this gathering and I strongly believe, that at the end of it all, our Party would be better repositioned,” he averred.

Earlier, chairman of the committee, Alhaji Lawal Samaila Yakawada, disclosed that the essence of the visit was to sensitise and train the state committee members on the rudiments of the exercise.

Present at the event were State APC Caretaker Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Folashade Ayoade-Arike, Hon Taufiq Isa, ALGON Chairman, Commissioners, LG Chairmen, Council Leaders among other Party loyalists.
