The Kogi State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has elected new executives in the state.
The officials emerged in a free and fair credible election conducted by the North Central Chairman of CAN, Dr Israel Akanji at the Chapel of Freedom, Lokoja, on Tuesday.
Special Apostle Adebayo Emanuel was elected Chairman, while Dr Ogakwu Onailo the Vice-Chairman, Rev. Ijioma Denise was elected as the Secretary, Paul Animazu as Assistant Secretary and Pastor Israel Adebisi is the Treasurer.
The new CAN Chairman, Adebayo Emmanuel commended the process of the election, describing it as free and fair.
He urged the State government to continue to partner with CAN for the peace and development of the state.
The outgone Chairman, Dr Bishop John Ibenu in his speech admonished the newly elected officers to carry out their duty diligently and with the fear of God.
