kidsTech Africa, a privately owned organisation, meant to train youths in the area of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), recently held its mini-exhibition for kids between the ages of 6 and 15, who have been well-trained in the fundamentals of programming languages and technologies.
The goal of the brand, according to the management of KidsTech,is to build a generation of young people who will transform Africa’s tech ecosystem from being the consumer of technology to innovators and producers.
Mr Dumoye Ayobami, in his wecome address, said the KidsTech Africa team have actively engaged the kids and given them the required knowledge and skills needed to thrive and develop in the tech world.
Among the projects that were exhibited were Game creation, Animation, Language Translator, Anti kidnapping App, Geolocator App, Health System App, Talk to Doctor App, School Management System App, Hotel Booking System, Restaurant Management System, Text to Audio App, Mini Accounting System App, Phone Number Locator and other innovative projects using different programming languages.
The mini-exhibition, which took place at the KidsTech Africa Head Office at Taiwo Road, Ilorin, Kwara State, was attended by the Kwara state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo, Director, Project and Empowerment, ABS Foundation, Mr Otukoko Olayinka Ibrahim and other dignitaries.
The commissioner in her speech applauded the KidsTech Africa Team and also promised to always support and encourage them. She also advised all parents to try and expose their children as much as they could to ICT by enrolling them at KidsTech Africa. She went ahead to access the Participants’ projects and advised them never to stop learning and developing themselves in ICT generally.
Otukoko, Director, Project and Empowerment, ABS Foundation, in his speech said the programme was a brilliant one and worthy of emulation, congratulating the graduating participants and urged all parents to keep supporting their wards. He furthered commended the team for impacting the young people.
The parents expressed their delight and commended the KidsTech Africa team for getting their kids involved in technology and holding the mini exhibition programme.
