Kano promotes 187 civil servants, retires 18

Kano State Government has said that over 18 workers in the mainstream have been retired from the state service while 187 others were promoted in the month of September 2021.

Disclosing this on Thursday, the Chairman Kano State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Bello Mohammad Kiru, shortly after the commission routine meeting for senior staff promotion exercise held at the conference hall of the commission.

Alhaji Kiru further explained that those who retired from the service of the state government are senior and junior workers.

He disclosed that about six conversion cases and eleven transfer of service cases were treated during the meeting while appealing to the relevant MDAs seeking for promotion of their staff to ensure proper documentation and scrutiny of documents before forwarding same to the commission.

The Permanent Secretary of the commission, Alh Sani Mata, implored the promoted workers to reciprocate the kind gesture of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje for approving the promotion exercise despite the current situation in the country where some states cannot afford to pay even the salary as and when due.

He charged them to put in their best at their various stations for accelerated development of the state.
