JUST IN: We suspect foul play in Lagos market fire ― LASEMA

Lagos State Emergency Management Agency on Friday raised a security red flag over the fire outbreak at Kairo market, Oshodi.

Agency’s boss, Dr Olufemi Damilola Oke-Osanyintolu in an update said explosives and accelerants, were used in setting the market on fire.

He said, “Joint responders have contained the fire. Initial investigations suggest that some form of explosives/ accelerants were used; indicating some foul play.

“Relevant authorities including the Nigeria Police have been alerted to carry out further investigations.

“Updates to follow.”
