Judiciary workers strike: Wabba leads JUSUN, PASAN members to meet with FG

Published by

The President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Ayuba Wabba, is presently leading the members of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) and the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), to meet with the Federal Government over the ongoing strike by the two unions.

The Federal Government, however, said it was holding its last meeting with JUSUN and PASAN to resolve the strike of the two unions over the refusal of state governors to implement autonomy for the judiciary and the state legislature.

The NLC has threatened last week that it would call out workers in all the sectors of the economy to join the JUSUN members in a solidarity strike to enforce the implementation of the judicial autonomy as stipulated in Nigeria Constitution.

The meeting is holding at the office of the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige. It is called at the instance of the minister.

It is expected that history will be made today with the suspension of the strike and final endorsement of autonomy for legislature and judiciary.
