Published by

The Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Mohammed Abubakar has called on the people and youth in Northern Nigeria to remain calm and warn them against any attempt of reprisal,  but to allow the security forces to do their job.

In a statement made available to Tribune Online in Dutse by the special assistant to the governor on the new media, Mr Auwalu Sankara said the governor made the warning when he paid a visit to commiserate with the Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong at the state government house in Jos.

According to the Governor, the Nigerian security forces have already begun making series of arrests of the people that have hands in the murder of innocent travellers.

The statement further stated that governor Abubakar called on the Nigerians to leave in peace, “let us be our brothers’ keepers anywhere irrespective of religious, tribe or section.”

Sankara said Badaru Abubakar was in the company of the Kebbi state Governor Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, the Yobe State Governor Alhaji Maimala Buni who also commiserated with the Plateau State Governor.
