Jigawa to send executive bill seeking to establish anti-corruption commission to assembly

THE Jigawa State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, has said an executive bill seeking the establishment of a public complaint and anti-corruption commission will soon be sent to the State House of Assembly.

The commissioner made the disclosure while narrating the ministry’s 2020–2021 achievements.

He said the move forms part of the government efforts to get rid of corruption.

Dr Aliyu maintained that “the state executive council has ratified the establishment of the commission which is an independent body.”

He noted that “a draft bill will be sent to the assembly for consideration.”

He said, when established, members of the public are allowed to channel complain about corruption and problem in the public and private sector.

The commissioner assured that the commission will be independent of the state government.
