Published by

The Chairman, Investments and Securities Tribunal (IST) Amos Azi says only three institutions in the Nigerian Capital Market currently support the Tribunal.

Azi, who was speaking in Abuja when the executives of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) paid a courtesy call on the Tribunal said IST is an Institution that should be protected, supported and showcased because of the critical role it plays in boosting investor confidence, and how it works for everyone in the Capital Market.

Speaking further, the IST Chairman said since its inception no judgment of the Tribunal has been overturned on the ground of wrong evaluation of facts, noting that anyone with or without a lawyer can approach the Tribunal for help as it relates to infractions in the Nigerian Capital Market.

Azi therefore called on institutions in the Capital Market to support the Tribunal as IST is the major infrastructure that boosts investor confidence in the Nigerian Capital Market.
