Ask the Doctor

Is this cancer?

Published by

I recently noticed a lump in my right breast. Although it is freely mobile and not hard, I am worried if it is a cancer. I will appreciate your kind advice on what I should do. I am 22 years old.

Congratulations on your ability to detect the lump in your breast. Self- breast examination has been confirmed to be one of the surest ways to prevent Breast Cancer and should be encouraged and practised by all young women. Having said this, the next step you should take is for you to see a doctor and allow him or her to take out a bit of the breast lump for Laboratory examination. The result will then determine, the next line of treatment.
