IPMAN agrees with Kano agency to release 81 trucks of petrol

Published by

Following a discussion with the Kano Public Complaint and Anti-Corruption Commission, the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has ordered the release of 81 truckloads of petrol to address the scarcity of fuel in the state.

The directive came after hours-long talks between IPMAN Chairman, Bashir Danmallam, and the Commission Chairman, Muhmud Balarabe.

It will be recalled that Danmallam was invited to the commission on Monday following an artificial scarcity of petroleum products in the state.

After the meeting, Balarabe, said: “We discussed extensively with the chairman lasting for hours and I ordered him to provide the manifest of fuel supplied to Kano to us.

“When he brought the manifest, we understand that there were 81 trucks on the ground already supplied to the state, and I asked them to dispense them as quickly as possible.”

Balarabe further informed the pressmen that there was no way they would allow artificial scarcity of the products in the state as they are already going round all the filling stations to ensure no one hides the products.

IPMAN chairman assured that members of the association will comply with the directives of the commission to ensure that fuel is available at all the filling stations.

Our correspondent observed that the agreement between the two entities has started yielding results as long queues at some filling stations have started disappearing.
