Insecurity: Police arrest bandits’ commander, 21 others, kill 5 in Zamfara

The Zamfara State police command has arrested a notorious bandit commander, Bello Mazan Kara and 21 other suspects killing 5 bandits in the process. 

Some of the suspects were identified as those who masterminded and terrorized people of Zamfara west senatorial district in the state. 

Parading the suspect on Saturday at the police headquarters in Gusau, the commissioner of police, Mr Ayuba Elkana said Bello Mazan kara was arrested by gallant troop of the Nigeria police in the state. 

According to the commissioner, Mazan Kara was one of the notorious gang of bandits lead by the Turji group who later formed his deadly gang after they were separated.

He disclosed that police in their efforts to rid the state of crime and criminals, the command has reiterated that the curfew earlier announced from 6pm to 6am in the 13 local government areas is still intact in the state. 

CP Elkana further announced that vehicles using tinted glasses, tricycles cabins and three persons on one motorcycle is hereby banned with immediate effect in the state. 

He maintained that the curfew in Gusau metropolitan was extended to 12pm to 6am, warning that any person found after the stated period would be arrested and questioned accordingly. 

He maintained that police would not rest and would continue to ensure that peace is restored to the state.
