Insecurity: No justification for mindless killing of citizens, social vices ― Reps minority caucus

Published by

The Minority Caucus in the House of Representatives, on Wednesday, appealed to those behind the mindless killing of innocent citizens to desist henceforth, as there’s no justification whatsoever for their actions.

The Caucus who gave the charge via a statement signed by the Minority Leader, Hon Ndudi Elumelu, to commemorate the completion of Holy Ramadan fasting, urged Nigerians to use the occasion of the Eid-el-Fitr to rekindle hope in the unity of the country

“Our Caucus urges Nigerians, especially the leaders, to deploy the imbibed lessons of self-restraint and trust in God to engender honesty, justice, mutual respect, tolerance peaceful co-existence as well as love and care for one another, in line with the teachings of the Holy Prophet Mohammed.

“Indeed, we must, as a people, instil such virtues in our everyday life in order to salvage and stabilize our nation at this critical time.

“Against this backdrop our Caucus charges leaders at all levels, to rededicate themselves to a life of selfless service, honesty and transparency in all their dealings.

“In the same vein, we urge that the essence of Eid-el-Fitr permeates the fabrics of our national life and spur love for one another, particularly in reaching out to the downtrodden, especially the victims of escalated acts of violence in our country.

“Our Caucus also implores those behind the mindless acts of terrorism to turn a new leaf and note that their actions can never be justified under any guise.”

While praying for Nigeria, the Minority Caucus wish all Muslim faithful a blessed Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
