Spiritual father of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (Worldwide), Prophet Samuel Abidoye, has asked the Federal Government to show more commitment in securing lives and property of Nigerians.
Speaking to newsmen on activities lined up to mark the 52nd ascension of Mount Horeb, entitled, “Absolute Liberation” in Galilee land, Ilorin-Ogbomoso road on Thursday, the cleric said that cases of kidnapping, terrorism, armed robbery, among others, had led to tension among people all over the country.
“Nowhere seems to be safe again as these terrorists, bandits, herdsmen, Boko Haram has taken over Nigeria thereby overwhelming all our security structures in the country. This is sad. The Federal government should show more commitment in securing the lives and property of its people,” he said.
The Church leader also advised the federal government to engage those Nigerians drumming for war in a dialogue to save the country from another civil war.
He also called on some Nigerians beating the drums of war to desist, saying that any outbreak of war cannot be easily contained.
“Rather than call for war or disintegration of the country, we should all embrace peace in order to remain as an indivisible country. We should all know that war goes beyond killing; it leads to starvation, restriction of movement, non-access to health facilities, offices, markets, losses of wives, husbands, children, relatives, among others. Those who witnessed the 1966 Civil War in Nigeria can tell the bitter stories. So, united we stand, divided we fall,” he said.
Abidoye, who pointed out that there is poverty in the land, added that Nigerians are hungry.
“Prices of foodstuffs and other essential commodities are already beyond the reach of most people,” he said.
Any attempt to further increase the price of petrol will further impoverish the living standard of most Nigerians which could lead to unprecedented crises. So, the government should not contemplate it but rather look for a way to ameliorate the suffering of Nigerians now,” he said.
Speaking on the 52nd ascension of Mount Horeb, Prophet Abidoye said that no fewer than 800 people who had gone through series of screening and training will be ordained as new Prophets and Prophetesses.
“Activities lined up include prayer sessions that will lead to salvation, deliverance, lectures and seminars, songs ministration, among others. The ascension will commence from today, Sunday, May 2 to 9.
