Disturbed by the nation’s lingering challenges, Primate of The African Church, Worldwide, His Eminence Julius Olayinka Abbe, has said that it is the responsibility of every Nigerian to pray fervently to God to enable us to surmount the problems.
Speaking during a two-day maiden episcopal visit to the Kwara Diocese of The African Church with the seat of the Bishop in Offa, Primate Abbe appealed to all Nigerians to join hands with all the tiers of government in solving the present challenges bedevilling the nation, saying that it is by so doing that the country could be a comfortable place to live in.
The cleric also urged members of the Diocese to love one another, be at peace with one another, improve the lives of other people, assist the poor and the vulnerable in their midst.
He also prayed for the peace, unity, stability, progress and development of Offa, Kwara State and Nigeria and the world at large.
Earlier in his address of welcome, the Secretary of the Kwara Diocese of the African Church, Brother Olusegun Oni JP, thanked God that Kwara Diocese despite series of confrontations has continued to be strongly united, adding that the creation of the Diocese might not have been possible without the efforts of some notable patrons and patronesses that have sacrificed their precious time, energy and other resources.
Mr Oni disclosed that the Diocese which started with five churches has now increased in size and scope with churches numbering to 20 spreading across the nooks and crannies of Kwara State while there are three Archdeaconries with another one in the pipeline.
The programme was graced by members of all African Churches that make up the Diocese in Kwara State.
In their brief remarks at the reception, the Bishop of the Diocese, the Right Reverend Dr E. Olu Oguntayo (JP) and the Vice Lay President, Prince S. S. O. Adegboye, thanked the Primate for his working visit despite his tight schedules and promised that the Diocese would continue to wax stronger as they also pledged the unalloyed support and loyalty of the Diocese to The African Church.
