Immune boosting Recipes for this Season!

The change in season can lead to various health problems like sore throat, itchy nose, sneeze, cough, common cold and various viral infections;  hence, it is crucial to consume the right foods to strengthen your immunity and beat the illness this season.

Carrots and bananas are very essential fruits which everyone should get a hold of this season.

Carrots ginger soup is rich in vitamin C, potassium and antioxidants.

Carrot ginger soup

Groundnut or olive oil

1/2 cup minced onion

1/4 cup grated fresh ginger

2 cloves garlic

Chicken or beef stock

Sliced peeled carrots

Evaporated milk

Preparation

Sauté the carrots and onions until just soft

Heat oil in saucepan over medium heat

Add garlic and minced ginger until onion is a semi-transparent

Add 4 cups chicken stock and 4 cups sliced carrots.

Cover and simmer until carrots are tender, about 30 minutes.

You can also blend to make a finely smoothened carrot ginger soup

Add the sautéed carrots to a blender with fresh ginger, milk and onion

Season soup to taste with salt and pepper

Blend for about 30 minutes

You can eat with chicken and beef.

 

Banana smoothie

Bananas

2 cups milk cup

Peanut butter

2 tablespoons honey, or to taste

Ice cubes

Preparation

Break your bananas into chunks

Place bananas, milk, peanut butter, and honey in a blender

Blend until creamy

Serve, adding ice blocks

It is best served chilled.
