IGP orders posting, redeployment of AIGs, decorates 36 new CPs

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, on Tuesday, ordered the posting and redeployment of 24 Assistant Inspectors General of Police (AIGs) to zonal commands and formations in line with the new manpower development of the force.

This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja by the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO, Frank Mba, a Commissioner of Police CP.

According to the statement, the postings are as follows:

Aig Spu Fhq Abuja – Aig Zaki M. Ahmed- Aig Zone 4 Makurdi – Aig Mustapha Dandaura,Aig Ctu Fhq Abuja – Aig Dansuki D. Galadanch, Aig Zone 17 Akure – Aig Okon Etim Ene, Aig Border Patrol Fhq Abuja – Aig Usman D. Nagogo.

Others Are; Aig Zone 7 Abuja – Aig Bala Ciroma,Aig Zone 9 Umuahia – Aig Adeleke Adeyinka Bode, Aig Zone 13 Ukpo-Dunukofia Awka – Aig Muri Umar Musa, Commandant Polac Wudil-Kano – Aig Lawal Jimeta Tanko, Aig Fcid Annex Lagos – Aig Usman Alhassan Belel, Aig Dops Fhq Abuja – Aig Adebola Emmanuel Longe, Aig Investment Fhq Abuja – Aig Musa Adze, Aig Dict Fhq Abuja – Aig Philip Sule Maku, Fdc.

The statement added that the IGP had assured the nation that the posting and redeployment of the Senior Police Officers would further help in driving the new policing vision, which amongst other things, was targeted at improving policing services across the country and effectively responding to security threats in the country.

It further explained that the posting and the redeployment of the Senior Police Officers was with immediate effect.

This came just as the IGP decorated the newly promoted 36 Commissioners of Police with their new ranks

The decoration of the new CPs was the second phase in the decoration exercise of the 167 Senior Police Officers recently approved by the Police Service Commission following their recommendation by the IGP.

Speaking at the brief occasion held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, the IGP noted that the manpower development Policy of the Force was a deliberate protocol to identify, elevate, and position professionally competent officers who would act as the Strategic Police Managers that would drive the new policing vision and give effect to strategies at responding to current and emerging security threats in the country.

According to him, the Policy also prioritised human capacity development and welfare of Police Officers for better police service delivery.

The IGP, while congratulating the newly promoted officers, charged them to deploy their wealth of experience to support his leadership mission of positively changing the policing and internal security narratives in the country. He also encouraged the officers to discharge the schedules of their new rank within the dictates of the law and the policing expectations of the citizens.

The IGP expressed force’s appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for consistently committing to the Nigeria Police reform Agenda and commended the Police Service Commission for supporting and aiding the new human capacity development of the force and equally appreciated the Minister of Police Affairs, the Senate and House Committees on Police Affairs, for their support to the police modernisation, re-orientation and re-equipment drive.

While responding on behalf of the newly promoted CPs, CP Babaji Sunday, expressed deep appreciation for deeming then fit for the new rank and assured that they would not let the nation down in the confidence reposed in them.
