Igbo community denies parallel leadership in Ondo.

The Igbo community in Ondo state, on Sunday, reiterated that there was no division within the Igbos in the state, describing those arrogating the leadership of the Igbo to themselves in the state as “mere impostors”

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Secretary of the Ohanaze Ndigbo, Chief Alloy Anoliefo, who said there was no parallel leadership of the Ohanaze Ndigbo saying the new title of Onye Ndu we strange to the Igbo community in the state.

He said that Ohanaze Ndigbo remains the apex body of the Igbo nation across the globe whose sole responsibility is to regulate the activities of Igbo organisation both within and outside Igbo land.

He said “the use of the name Igbo community outside Igbo land, particularly in Ondo state is optional and merely for ease of reference as it cannot be used in igboland hence the name Igbo leadership and Ohanaze Ndigbo are the same and one body

“The Igbo community is therefore calling is therefore calling on the general public to be weary of those projecting Ohanaze Ndigbo as being different body from Igbo community, and to always remember to use long handed spoon while feasting with the devils.”

He said that Sir, Georgry Iloehika remained the Eze Ndigbo in Ondo state saying Iloehika was unanimously elected by the Igbo community in Ondo state as the leader of Igbo in the state, saying ” he will continue to remain the only recognised Eze Ndigbo in Ondo State

“The use of Eze Ndigbo as adapter by Igbo outside Igbo land as sacrosanct and non-negotiable and that the title is widely recognized and used both within within and outside Nigeria as approved by the association of Ndieze Ndigbo N’uzo Ije and Ohanaze Ndigbo worldwide which are the parent bodies”

He described the installation of one Kingsley Chukwuma as the new leader of Igbo by the Deji of Akure land, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, as false and calculated attempt to polarise the Igbo community in the state, saying “such falsehood emanated from the enemies of progress within Igbo in the state”

Anoliefo said the clarification became imperative in view of the confusion which some faceless people have created in the mind of different people in the state.
