Breaking into the Nigerian music industry like never before is Aderemi Adeyemo Known as Remmy XO, singer, songwriter and a sound engineer was born June 13th he hails from Oyo State.
Remmy XO is a graduate of sound engineering in South Africa and also signed to a label called 95ISSUE, He started the music journey just after high school at a very young age from playing musical instruments from primary school till he started making his way to record in music studios, he then released his first song titled “Controlla” in 2017 which gained maximum recognition in Nigeria and also gave him a good reception which motivated him to continue making more music.
After then he dropped “sweet love” an afro-pop sound in 2019 which was produced by OBT with a top-notch visuals from the South African director Kyle white, the song did some good numbers on digital platforms, clubs and also gained some radio spins in Nigeria and South Africa which he then coupled with his exceptional writing skills and distinct vocal sounds which changed a whole lot for him as a prolific musician.
However; since he started making music professionally he has been inspired by the music itself and his environment too, he has took time out to learn more on the craft and also attain to make a difference in the music industry and beyond with his music which is already striving to accomplish this goals, it is no surprise that he looks up to the likes of Popcaan, Skillibeng, Damian Marley, Drake, Kanye West as a guide of his music journey, he didn’t forget home as he also loves Nigerian A-listers like BurnaBoy and Wizkid.
He said, “Music to me is a way to express my inner thoughts and I’d say my targeted audience are the youths (younger generations) because I think they can relate more to the type of songs i make and also talk more about what’s happening in the country too, if not for music I might have ventured into been a professional basketballer”.
