In view of the gamut of foods available and those not allowed for diabetics, it will be better for you to consult a dietician for a complete list of appropriate food items. Having said this, the rule of thump is for you to reduce by half any kind of carbohydrate that you have been taking before now while you can eat all the vegetables and plant based proteins such as beans, nuts and seeds as you like. On the other hand, you should avoid fizzy drinks, fried foods, Whole milk, Yogurt, Ice cream, Fats, Oils, and Sweets.
