In his judgment, the court president, Chief Mukaila Balogun, said the evidence of both parties before the court had proved that there was no more love in the union.
Balogun said it would be out of place to deny the plaintiff’s request since she was committed to the dissolution of their union.
He added that the actions of the defendant further proved that he was not serious about the settlement of the rift between him and his wife.
The defendant, he said, refused to take steps in resolving the matter when directed by the court to involve family members in addressing the complaints of his wife.
He consequently dissolved their marriage and gave custody of the four children in the union to the plaintiff.
Balogun, who directed the defendant to pay N7, 000 monthly for the children’s upkeep also warned both parties to maintain peace.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the plaintiff had earlier told the court that her husband neglected his responsibilities as father and husband.
Adebisi said she was the only one bearing the responsibilities of feeding the children and paying their school fees.
She further said the defendant refused to make a repay of a loan of N150, 000 she incurred on his behalf.
The husband, who did not deny the allegations, pleaded with the court not to dissolve their marriage.
He promised to change and rise up to his responsibilities in the home.
