Some strategies to control Diabetes include: embracing a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains, monitoring carbohydrate intake and opting for low glycemic index foods, limiting consumption of processed sugars and unhealthy fats, practice portion control to manage blood sugar levels effectively.
Regular exercise of about 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week is also important. Other activities include the incorporation of strength training exercises to improve insulin sensitivity, staying active throughout the day by taking short walks or engaging in household chores, regular blood sugar monitoring, medication adherence, stress management, regular Medical Check-ups as well as building support network of peers, family members, and healthcare professionals who understand your journey. You can also join diabetes support groups or online communities to connect with others facing similar challenges.
