How often can I donate blood?

Published by

I donated blood to some of my relatives who were involved in a Road Traffic Accident last month. Now, I am being asked again to donate blood to a friend. Kindly let me know how much blood I can safely donate per month. I am 35 years of age.

You can donate whole blood every eight weeks and platelets every seven days up to 24 times in a twelve-month period. We normally ask platelet donors to donate every 14 days, unless an extraordinary situation exists. Plasma donors are eligible to donate every 28 days.
