How I transformed Kebbi in one year — Gov Idris

Kebbi governor, Dr Nasir Idris has said he made significant progress in transforming the state, especially the State capital in his last one year in office.

The Governor during his broadcast to people of the state to mark his administration’s one year in office stated that upon assumption of office, he had put in place the necessary measures to gear up internally generated revenue for the state.

He stated further that various steps are being taken to ensure the state’s revenue collection is in a better position to meet the needs of his government for a better Kebbi State.

On security, the governor explained that when we came in, security in the southern part of the state was seriously compromised. It was difficult for our farmers to go to their farms.

“We had to put necessary measures in place for our security agents to secure this part of the state for the safety of our people. Today, the farmers can go to their farms without any fear.”

The governor added that his administration has embarked on the rehabilitation and construction of roads and roundabouts in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi to ensure it looks like any other state capital in the country.

He added that an ultra-modern motor park, secretariat complex, and 27 feeder roads are under construction and have reached 90, 80, and 70 per cent completion.

The governor also said those in casual positions in the state civil service have been given full employment in fulfillment of his campaign promises.

“The health sector will continue to receive my administrator’s attention for the good of our people,” he said.
